Applicability.

The policies delineated and/or referenced in this Site Policy apply to all users of this TAS Moodle website, unless otherwise specified.

TAS Academy feels strongly about protecting your privacy. We understand how important privacy is to you, and we are committed to creating a safe and secure environment for learners of all ages on our web site, application programming interface (our “API”), and online services (collectively, our “Website”). We use the data we collect to provide you with a better experience and fulfill our mission of providing an intuitive, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
Our Privacy Notice describes what information we gather from our members and others who visit and use the Website, how we use that information, and what we do to protect it. By visiting or using our Website, you expressly consent to the information handling practices described in this Privacy Notice.
Your use of the Website and any information you provide on the Website are subject to the terms of this Privacy Notice, which is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. Any capitalized terms used but not defined within this Privacy Notice have the meaning given to them in our Terms of Service.

Instructional Use Only.
The purpose of this site is to facilitate instruction at TAS Academy. The site may only be used for instructional purposes. "Instructional use" includes:

"Instructional use" does not include human resources training, or other types of training and professional development opportunities, offered to employees as part of their employment.

Account Permissions.
Users are automatically provided student (or faculty) permissions within the Joule/Moodle platform once they register for an online, hybrid, and/or web-supported course. Granting of additional permissions will be done on a case-by-case basis by the Center for Learning & Technology.

 

Password Policy.
Users are responsible for keeping their password private. User passwords should match their My TAS Academy webportal password. To reset a password, users should contact the Help Desk at support@theaccountingsolution.com.fj.

 

User Privacy.
Users must respect the privacy rights of all other users of the Joule/Moodle platform. Faculty privacy rights include restricted access to personal e-mail addresses, home address, and other personal information protected under University policy. Users are encouraged to use discretion and caution in divulging personal information within the Joule/Moodle platform, especially within Personal Profiles, courses, and e-portfolios.

 

Student Records and Data Management.
Courses with student data are archived within a week after the end of the term and are kept on record by the University for three years after the date of completion. Faculty may request the Center for Learning & Technology to provide access to these electronic student records after the final date of the course only if there is a grade dispute. Users may not request the Center for Learning & Technology to provide access to students in order for students to complete incompletes; all information from the course site required to complete an incomplete must be downloaded by the student prior to the end date of the course.

 

Hacking / Violations of Site Security.
Hacking and other violations of site security are illegal and will not be tolerated by the Academy. Such violations will be subject to criminal prosecution.

 

Consequences of Site Policy Violations.
Site Policy violations will be referred to the Director of the Center for Learning & Technology. If serious in nature, the Director will review the violation with the Information Services Director and/or the Academy Provost. Violations of site policy may result in suspension of a user from the site or similar measures. Serious violations such as hacking, harassment, and privacy violations may be cause for administrative action by the Academy Provost.

Notifying TAS of Violations of this Site Policy.
Violations of this Site Policy should be reported immediately to the Director of the Centre for Learning & Technology, either directly or through the Help Desk support@theaccountingsolution.com.fj
